Beware of your renewals. They have a 7-day policy and do not email you any notifications of the upcoming charges. They also do not send you any receipts of any transactions that get charged on your card. I will not do business with a company with such little regard for customer notification, especially on such a high amount. Their annual subscription of $99 should definitely be notified and a receipt sent. I emailed them asking for a refund and noted that I received no communication regarding this charge and they denied my request. Unless, you are someone who keeps track of every subscription and also checks their cc statements every day or week, you will lose money. Save yourself the trouble by not doing business with them. There are better apps and websites.
Please dont sign up for this service, it is impossible to cancel. They renewed my subscription with no prior notice, and as I dont remember my password, i am having a hard time trying to cancel the service. The reset password service just does not work, no reset email received,
Their customer service is horrible and their contents are not worthy. They are short and worthless. Udemy is a better platform.
Do not sign up for their service i got my premium subscription cancel and didn't get my refund.
Guys, I like the classes on skill share but what the hell, my account has been deactivated and there has been no further contact from the support team other than the initial contact. I mean I like going through the classes here and as far my knowledge I haven't done anything outrageous. I checked credit info and it's alright. What you guys take money from willing customers and butcher them too? The classes are really good, I miss them.
On the phone with my credit card company now trying to block the next charge. Same story as others. I've tried to cancel my account with three emails and three phones calls. No contact link of any kind on their website. I got their phone number from my credit card statement, not from their website.
You call their phone number and get an answering machine telling you to email them.
You can go to the Terms and Conditions page and there's a link there that is supposed to be where you can cancel. But it only allows you to add new payment methods. SCAMMERS
Unfortunately, the company relies on charging customers even after they canceled their subscription. I have canceled my membership during the trial as it didn't work for me, but they continue to charge my card. When I reached to the customer service, they ignored my complaint, refused to refund me, and instead tried to sell me more services. Really unprofessional, unethical and least sensitive. They don't have any escalation process either. Never gonna use them again.
Just use Udemy. The content on ss is low quality. I was going through one course but canceled before the trial ended. They charged my account anyway, lied and said they checked their records and I didn't cancel. I even sent them the emails showing I contacted customer service before trial date ended but they replied that no I didn't cancel as if I am a crazy person. pretty baffling tbh. They are just trying to scrounge monthly one times from people who don't actually get much from their "educators"
It's not worth the money. low quality content. They will make you pay without warning before your free trial even ends.
I've been teaching on Skillshare for 5 years. About a year ago they changed their terms and immediately invalidated half my classes without warning (this happened to many instructors).
I was annoyed but I worked with them to restore my classes. Just as the final classes were being restored (this is in 2021) my account completely disappeared. No email from Skillshare. Just poof, *gone*.
I reached out to their help desk and got a generic reply about terms and conditions, nothing specific at all. And so, just like that, my years of work down the drain. My main income source down the drain with it.
If you're thinking about Skillshare as an instructor then please don't even try it. Much better to build up your own website which YOU control (Wordpress is the easiest way to do this).
If you're a student, just know that they are purging top rated instructors with no reasoning whatsoever. Add to that the multiple accusations on the web of additional credit card charges and I'd strongly advise against signing up. You can get all the courses you need on Udemy anyway, without a monthly subscription!
They charged me the premium membership for one year (99USD) even though I have canceled it! And when I asked for refund, they just refused because they said I asked for refund after 7 days after charging! I would not know they charged me even I canceled my membership until I checked my credit card bill! So I think this is a trap and their business is insincere and very sneaky!
First there is no teacher account so you have to be a student too being a teacher even when you dont want to be. Then I had to delete my account in 2 months after i payed the whole year. Here I just copy my termination email and you will understand why:
Hi,
I have been teaching on skillshare only for 2 months but my classes have already been removed 4 times. I am a good watercolorist and although I just started making videos 2 months ago, all my classes are loved and I only have good reviews. Students are very happy with my classes.
Despite all this, I feel that I constantly have to fight your moderator team who behave exactly as a bunch of bullies in the kindergarten with text understanding problems.
Here are the issues in detail:
First strike: although the moderator did not say what the problem was, I figured that I got it because I numbered the videos.
According to your guide:
"Remove numbers and symbols (e.g., "Video #1").
Skillshare automatically numbers class lessons, so there's no need to add numbers to your titles."
I told the moderator and I am saying now, numbering the videos is not the same as cutting a 30 minutes painting video 3 parts because of video size limits and calling `painting the cat - part 1 ` is not numbering a video, since all the other parts had real titles, e.g. intro etc. These numbers were only introduced so that students would know it will be a long painting. Not to mention that skillshare is full of videos of the same kind of numbering (see attached), and I also published similarly numbered classes previously. Anyway, I got a strike, BUT IT WAS NOT RIGHT.
Next issue, your guideline is this: "Teachers may upload a maximum of 1 class per week."
This sentence means once a week any time. Like having sex once a week does not mean it is always on the same day. Anyway, I was punished by removing my class again when my next video was added earlier than a whole week has passed, BUT AGAIN IT WAS NOT RIGHT. Anyway, I followed the suggestion of the moderator and ever since I always published my classes on Friday.
Then after I published a class yesterday it was removed again. Explanation: because I published more than once a week. THIS IS NOT TRUE UNLESS YOU EXPECT TEACHERS TO PUBLISH IN EXACTLY THE SAME MINUTE ON FRIDAY AS LAST WEEK. Anyway I wrote an email and phoned skillshare, after which my class went back, but today a new email states that I changed the title of a previous class this week, which is why they removed my new class again. I might have changed a typo or a word (I don't remember, but definitely not the title) so I got punished? Do I have to leave the error uncorrected? AND MY CLASS WAS REMOVED AGAIN, AND FOR THE 4TH TIME IN 2 MONTHS IT WAS NOT RIGHT AGAIN.
IT WAS YOUR LAST STRIKE Skillshare!
I am not sure if I met a particularly malignus moderators or this is Skillshare issue, but I am terminating my account.
Please pay my pending teacher fees and I would like to get a refund for the rest of the year from my yearly fee, since I think I was wrongly punished by your moderators all 4 times, since I have never violated your guidelines (as I listed above).
I assumed skillshare's aim is to keep and help good teachers but obviously I was wrong.
